I am very excited as I leave tomorrow for an adventure.
I have been invited by the
U.S. Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia, to consult with contacts of the U.S. Embassy on the theme of “American Career and Technical Education (CTE) Schools and the Community College System.”
Being the adventurous person that I am, I couldn't wait to say YES. So I am looking forward to two full weeks of meetings, lectures and round table discussions with Indonesian government officials, foreign policy experts, policy makers, business leaders, NGOs, social activists, university professors and students in Jakarta and other Indonesian cities. The focus of the program is to provide the U.S. perspective on how career and technical schools, and community colleges, help individuals explore a non-traditional education path and still receive a quality education. Additionally, I will be exploring the possibilities for American career and technical schools and community colleges to partner with their Indonesian counterparts.
I am being sponsored by the U.S. Department of State Bureau of International Information Programs Speaker/Specialist Program.
