I landed in Singapore, after a 3 ½ hour flight, around midnight local time. Went through customs and found the airport hotel. The room was very nice (and very expensive). Too bad I could only spend a few hours in it. As tired as I was, I could not sleep…… I rested and dozed a bit, but jet-lag is certainly playing a role. However, I had a very nice shower and feel refreshed and ready to go!
Today is my last flight – only a short one—about an hour to Jakarta. I am to be met by the US Embassy escort, Arend. He has my picture so I hope he will be able to spot me. My only other formal plan for the day is to meet my future student, Agustina. Interestingly, Agustina contacted me long before the Indonesian adventure was planned and said she wanted to study with me. She lives in Jakarta and I invited her to dinner.
